Where to party in Kitzbühel

23.01.2025

It’s not just the Hahnenkamm Race winners who like to party. Here, a brief overview of the fan parties:

The 85th Hahnenkamm Races are looking forward to welcoming around 85,000 ski fans again this year. Kitzbühel's old town and the town park will be transformed into Austria's biggest party mile at the weekend. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 48 stalls and food trucks from clubs and Kitzbühel businesses will be providing food and drink. ‘On the whole, we have the same programme every year, which has proven to be very successful,’ fan mile organiser Thomas Rass told the Tiroler Tageszeitung newspaper. A maximum alcohol limit of ten per cent applies throughout the party area and race visitors are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages into the fan zone.

Details of the music programme can be found here. If the hustle and bustle in the finish stadium is too much for you or if you were unable to buy a ticket for the Downhill, all races will be broadcast live on 21 video screens in the city. Cashless payment is possible everywhere and is mandatory in the Mastercard Cashless Area.

Safety is ensured by numerous emergency services such as the Red Cross, security guards, the safety team, Samaritans and the fire brigade. They take care of first aid, monitoring the spectator areas, securing the racecourse and fire protection, amongst other things, to ensure a safe and smooth event.

The ski party ends at 22.00 hrs on Friday and Saturday and at 16.00 hrs on Sunday. Sales stands and food trucks may remain open until 22.30 hrs this year, but can then only serve food and non-alcoholic drinks.

 Fan Mile at a glance:

  •  Catering: 48 stands
  • Live broadcasting: 21 video walls
  • Alcohol restriction: max. 10 per cent
  • Payment: cashless possible
  • Closing time: 22.00 hrs
  • Food trucks: until 22.30 hrs (no alcohol sales)

Beyond Pop-up Club

One of the most original locations for dancing and partying is the Beyond pop-up club, which is also the official music and festival partner of the Hahnenkamm Race: the SLOPE THRILLS party kicks off on Thursday evening. On Friday, Danish DJ Morten will be spinning the discs and on Saturday, the party night will be themed STREIF ON FIRE. To ensure that no time is lost between the Races and party, the club is conveniently located almost directly at the ‘finish line’ of the Hahnenkamm cableway station. Tickets are available online from 45 euros. More details can be found here.

DJ Medun in the finish stadium

Admission to the Velo Dowhill after-show party in the finish stadium on Saturday from 16.30 hrs is free. DJ Medun will kick the late afternoon off (details here), followed by the downhill award ceremony and a spectacular drone show.
